KANDY-ELLA SCENIC TRAIN TRIP

The rail ride from Kandy to Ella is known as one of the most scenic train trips in the world. This memorable journey commences from Kandy; the last royal capital of the country to Ella a peaceful, scenic village in the central highlands of Sri Lanka.
With the chug-chug of the train leaving Kandy, the rail-road fantasy begins. The train ride that gradually ascends 2024m going past dense forest, verdant tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, tunnels carved out of rock, gigantic mountain ranges, deep ravines and picturesque valleys. The highlight of the journey is the Nine Arch Demodara Bridge and the fascinating 441 feet long Demodara Loop where the railway track passes under itself and emerges from the tunnel; an impressive feat in railway construction. This six hour journey will certainly be filled with exclamations of WOW! Awesome! Unbelievable! And Out-of-this-world!!; in addition to being a memorable photography session.

SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST Sinharaja Rain Forest a very important, UNESCO named world heritage site and Biosphere reserve. Sinharaja is one of the most important bio diversity hotspot in Sri Lank The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, and was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. The reserve's name translates as Kingdom of the Lion. The reserve is only 21 km (13 mi) from east to west, and a maximum of 7 km (4.3 mi) from north to south, but it is a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
